PATRICIA HAIGHT, ARCHITECT, LEED Green Associate
Patty is an architect with a design portfolio that includes both public and private sector projects in residential, education and civic architecture throughout the Bay Area. With over fifteen years in the profession, she favors the design resolution process, nurturing the client/architect relationship and on-site construction administration. Patty has worked on LEED and CHPS (Collaborative High Performance Schools) projects.
Currently in a solo private architectural practice in San Francisco, she specializes in creative, cost efficient renovations with designs and materials that are representative of the client’s site and self. Color and texture drive her material and finish selections.
Patty believes in maximizing client livability and delight while consciously managing project scope, scale and budget. The “greenest” way to build is not to over build. Her mantra, “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”…
For her, a successful project’s life cycle has an impact on both the client’s life and that of the designer that goes beyond the tangible. “You learn about the individual’s human spirit and thresholds during the collaborative process of reconfiguring (their) spaces.”
Patty covets design opportunities from “found objects,” and is a relentless arranger of all things not nailed down.
